The beginning
Our Story: The Vision Behind the Prayer Assembly
There has always been a burden on my heart, Liz Emelogu, to pray for the United Kingdom - and especially for those in leadership. A real empathy for the weight they carry: the burden of decision-making, of leading a nation.
And in the summer of 2019, I had a vision. - I stood on the top of a mountain, looking down into a valley. Below me lay a city, wrapped in darkness. Then, as I watched, a single house turned on its light. Then another. Then another. Slowly, more and more lights began to appear across the valley — until they started to link together, as if joined by threads of light, growing brighter and brighter, until I woke up.
For a long time, I didn't understand what it meant. But the vision stayed with me, and the burden only grew heavier. Then, in prayer, clarity came.
If we, as Christians, each became a light of prayer in our own homes, and join our lights together, the darkness would have no place left to hide. The Revival will grow stronger
What began as short, dedicated seasons of personal prayer grew into informal gatherings with others who carried the same burden. By October 2024, a small group of us were meeting consistently, twice a month, to pray for the nation.
Two years on, that gathering has become The Prayer Assembly — a platform for anyone who wants to join their shield of faith with others, to stand together in prayer for the United Kingdom, and to make room for God to move across this nation.
Join us. Bring your light. Together, let us turn the darkness to light.

Mandate
The desire to gather and intercede does not rest on numbers or credentials — it rests on the promise that wherever God's people come together in His name, He is present. And like Esther, we believe this generation has been positioned, deliberately, for such a time as this. Silence is not an option we can afford. We have both the standing and the responsibility to rise and pray.
"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them."
— Matthew 18:20
"For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise... from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
— Esther 4:14

Vision
“Our vision is that same picture made real: individual believers, praying in their homes, joined together until their combined light drives out the darkness over this nation — revival across the United Kingdom.

Mission
To build a united, consistent movement of prayer, bringing believers together from homes, churches, and communities across the UK into regular, focused intercession, centred on three priorities:
- The Nation - praying for the UK's welfare and wellbeing (Jeremiah 29:7, MSG)
- The Government - praying for those in leadership, that they would govern with wisdom and lead the nation in peace (1 Timothy 2:1–
- The UK Church - praying for the church to rise up (Isaiah 60:1)
Through consistent gathering — we are turning individual lights into one collective light strong enough to answer the vision.
